Psychological Assessment FAQs

WHAT KIND OF TESTING DO YOU OFFER?

I provide comprehensive psychological assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in adults and teens. Many of my clients come to me after years of wondering why they feel different, why certain things have always been harder than they "should" be, or after seeing themselves reflected in another person's diagnosis for the first time. My goal is to give you language and clarity for your experience, not just a label.

I approach assessment from a neurodiversity-affirming lens. That means I'm not looking to find what's "wrong" with you. I'm looking to understand how your brain works, where your natural strengths lie, and where you might benefit from support or accommodations. I take your full identity into account throughout the process, including gender identity, sexuality, culture, and lived experience, since these all shape how autism and ADHD can show up and how they've often been missed or misdiagnosed. I provide clear, evidence-based feedback and practical recommendations you can actually use, and I'm happy to coordinate with your therapist, psychiatrist, or other providers if that's helpful to your care.

WHAT DOES TESTING COST?

  • Autism or ADHD assessment: $2,500

  • Autism and ADHD assessment: $3,000

These fees cover the full assessment process, including the clinical interview, testing sessions, scoring and interpretation, a comprehensive written report, and a feedback session to walk through the results with you.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE FOR ASSESSMENTS?

I am private pay and do not accept insurance directly for testing. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network reimbursement for psychological assessment, so upon request I can provide a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. There's no guarantee of reimbursement, so I'd recommend checking with your insurance provider about your out-of-network mental health benefits before we begin.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED, AND DO YOU OFFER TESTING ONLINE?

I provide assessments via telehealth throughout the state of California. All testing sessions, the clinical interview, and your feedback session take place virtually, so you can complete the process from wherever you are in California.

WHO IS TESTING FOR?

Testing is for any adult or teen who suspects they may be autistic, have ADHD, or both, whether this is the first time you're exploring it or you're seeking a more thorough evaluation after a previous diagnosis felt incomplete. Many of my clients are adults who masked or compensated for years and are only now starting to ask questions, as well as people who didn't fit the "typical" picture of autism or ADHD growing up and were missed as a result.

WHAT DOES THE PROCESS LOOK LIKE?

Every assessment includes a clinical interview to understand your history and current concerns, standardized testing measures tailored to what we're assessing, scoring and interpretation of your results, a comprehensive written report, and a feedback session where I walk you through what I found in plain language, not just clinical jargon. You'll leave with a clear understanding of your results and concrete next steps, whether that's accommodations, treatment recommendations, or simply the clarity you came in looking for.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER TESTING IS COMPLETE?

You'll receive a detailed written report summarizing your results, diagnostic impressions, and personalized recommendations. This report can be used for accommodations at school or work, to guide treatment planning with your therapist or psychiatrist, or simply as a tool to better understand yourself. If you'd like, I'm glad to coordinate directly with your care team to support continuity of care.

ASSESSMENT SERVICES

  • ADHD Assessments
Do you lose track of time, struggle to start tasks even when they matter to you, or feel like your brain is always a few steps ahead or behind? Have you been told you're "so smart, but..." your whole life? You may be looking at ADHD.

  • Autism Evaluations
Do you feel like you're translating the world around you instead of just living in it? Have you always sensed you were different but couldn't quite name why? A comprehensive evaluation can offer real clarity and a path toward support that actually fits how your brain works.

  • Combined Autism + ADHD Assessments
Many people are both autistic and have ADHD, and the overlap can make it hard to tell where one ends and the other begins. A combined assessment looks at the full picture so your recommendations and support reflect everything that's actually going on.
